Ninja or Pirate?

Arrrrgh!I watched a couple of movies this weekend - House of Flying Daggers (gorgeously shot; excellent score, which I just added to my wishlist; great movie) and Finding Neverland (another great movie; Johnny Depp with a Scottish accent is my newest pretend boyfriend.

So, after watching these two movies, my big question is this: Who's cooler - ninjas or pirates (yes, no pirates were in either of these movies, but Johnny Depp plays a pirate, and those are the kinds of jumps my mind makes)?

What do you think? I usually lean towards pirates being the coolest of the cool (Talk Like a Pirate day is coming up; it's September 19th), but I'm kind of torn.

More proof I lean towards being a pirate can be seen in this picture and in the fact that I went as a pirate wench for Halloween last year.

I'm going with Pirates... if they are cute like Depp and Bloom - I'm all for being the damsel in distress!

I'm gonna go with ninjas, they are much cooler. Also with pirates I understand there is usually some kind of unpleasant odor.

Thats right, instead of actual reasoning I went straight for good old fashioned slander.

Pirates. 100% pirates!

Tough call - ninjas have neat toys yet pirates seem to get the women. Pirates do seem to have a lot more fun, even with the mentioned odor problems. I would still have to go for ninjas. You know how it is - a boy and his toys.

From a movie perspective I prefer ninjas over pirates, even with the lack of buxom wenches. Pirate films tend to become senseless violence just to get the booty. Ninja films at least tend to have some sense to the violence. Maybe I'm just getting old ;).

BTW Sep 19th is Talk Like A Pirate Day. My where does the time fly? For more info check out http://www.talklikeapirate.com/.

I was going to leave a note on the photo that that was the best drink ever, but damn - I already did that. Arrrrgh! :D (Maybe I just *really* needed a drink by that point in our trip, but damn - that was a good drink.)
