And now it's time for today's Friday Five! 1. What's your favorite vacation spot? The only vacation spot that I visit with any regularity is Las Vegas where we stay at The Bellagio. I love it there. 2. Where do you consider to be the biggest hell-hole on earth? When I was about twelve, my brother and I made it to the state finals in bowling (I know, I'm a dork) and it was held in Lubbock, Texas. Maybe because I was only twelve, but the place was just awful. Nothing to do, no where to go, it sucked. My answer would have to be tiny Texas towns. 3. What would be your dream vacation? Two weeks (or more!) at Atlantis, the luxury resort in the Bahamas. We saw a special on it on The Discovery Channel and that place was incredible! 4. If you could go on a road-trip with anyone, who would it be and why? I would go with my best friend Jeanna, probably to Galveston. We go there every now and again and just have the greatest time. We are absolutely identical in personality and have the best time together, no matter where we go. 5. What are your plans for this weekend? Tonight we're going to a local country and western bar with a bunch of people from our dance class. We were going to go to a club tomorrow night with a bunch of friends, but considering how bitchy I am, we'll probably just blow it off, drink raspberry piña coladas, and watch The X-Files on DVD or something equally exciting. :-) Sunday will be for catching up on shows on the Tivo and maybe working on a spring skin for the site. .: 292 words at 04:53 PM in Friday Five! :: Link ::

I have been absolutely irritated by everything today - the co-workers that drink the last Coke and don't put more in the fridge, my brother and his unrealistic expectations of life, my idiot clients, and more. I'm sure part of it is hormones at work and that I have that damn endoscopy procedure Monday. I just want to kill someone or break something. Grrrrrr. .: 64 words at 04:38 PM in Rants :: Link ::

In case you didn't know, the second season of Six Feet Under starts this Sunday. If you haven't seen it, HBO's been rerunning the first season and you can probably catch most of the shows before the new season starts. It is absolutely the most incredible show on television and I was thrilled when it won two Golden Globes, including best television drama. It's written by the Alan Ball, who also wrote the screenplay for American Beauty. The show itself is about a family that runs a mortuary, but that's like saying American Beauty was about an American family. I had watched the first three or four episodes without Steven when one of his co-workers raved about the show to him. He caught them in reruns with me and became instantly hooked. I was so glad he liked it. Meant I didn't have to dump him. ;-) Anyway, catch the show if you have HBO. You'll be glad you did. .: 161 words at 01:13 AM in Media Consumption :: Link ::

Tonight the online focus group that I participated in was about hosting and domain registration. One of the questions was, "After you did a search for the domain you wanted, what would you expect to see on the results page?" I answered that I would expect to see if the domain was available and possible variations in case it was taken. I suddenly thought back to when I registered kymberlie.com. I did the search, was told the domain was available, and presented with a list of other possible domains. Some of them were pretty standard - ekymberlie.com, ikymberlie.com - but then I get to ezkymberlie.com. I started cracking up. EZKymberlie.com. Yes, that's what I want for my web presence! I shared the story with some of the people that I worked with at the former.com company and from that day forward, I was EZKym. .: 144 words at 12:22 AM in Fish Tales :: Link ::

Show comments here » How Fragile They Now Seem...
Dawn saw five fire trucks in front of the Sears Tower today and immediately thought, "Now what?" Today as I was coming out of the gym (it was very cloudy out), I had similiar thoughts. I looked up to see a plane coming in low overhead. As I watched the plane break through the clouds I thought to myself, "They never used to look fragile. I never would have pictured them falling from the sky." I grew up in the flight path of Intercontinental Airport in Houston, so I've seen millions of planes, but they look so different now. I wonder how long it will be before we're able to look at them like we used to. Or if that will even be possible. .: 124 words at 12:10 AM in Daily Ramblings :: Link ::
