We Have a Winner!
I am a sucker for online contests and enter just about all of them that I find. I answered some trivia questions last month at Gourmet Guess and I was one of this month's winners! I won a Capresso WaffleDUO and a Component Design Northwest Multitask Digital Timer & Clock. I love waffles, so what can be better than heart-shaped waffles on a kick-ass waffle maker that I won? :-)

When I first started using the 'net which seems like a lifetime ago), I did that. I was real heavy into the contest thing. I did searches for every combination of words that would find me all the latest contest giveaways. I must have entered about 500 of them in the first week. I'm serious. I did NOTHING but enter contests. Unfortunately, it never paid off because I NEVER win those things. So I gave it up in favor of bigger and better things. But don't ask me what those were 'cause I don't remember now.
Congrats on winning, girl. Now ... make me a waffle. :)

It's a Group Thing - Davezilla Style
Davezilla and a bunch of his friends devised new group names for several existing terms. Of them all, my personal favorites are:
- A spasm of ferrets
- A melanoma of moles
- An Easter of seals
- A poo-fling of apes
- A pinch of asses
- A toupée of Tribbles
- A heartburn of dragons
Of course, tomorrow is Wednesday, so come back for a new "It's a Group Thing!"

Scary Story
I finished reading Everything's Eventual by Stephen King last night. I had read or heard all the stories before, save Luckey Quarter, but I had forgotten how frightening the story 1408 is. After I finished it and the rest of the book, I turned off the light and tried to go to sleep, but had completely succedeed in freaking myself out with that story (King himself said the story frightened him, so I'm not as much of a wuss as I sound). I'm lying in bed trying not to think about the scary story when Steven (who has been asleep the whole time) rolls over and puts his arms around me. I then felt so safe that I went right to sleep. Ah. Happiness is being held by the man you love when you're your book has scared you and you can't go to sleep.
