While I am happy with my life and feel like I'm a good person and add some value to the world, take a look at what others had accomplished by the time they were my age. At age 27: Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. dropped out from his job at General Electric to become a full-time writer. Henry David Thoreau went off for two years to live alone in a cabin at Walden Pond. Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first person in space. Memphis millionaire Frederic W. Smith, whose father built the Greyhound bus system, founded Federal Express. Scottish botanist David Douglas discovered the Douglas fir. Ernest Hemingway published his first novel, The Sun Also Rises. Boston dentist William Morton pioneered modern anaesthesiology after learning that inhalation of ether will cause a loss of consciousness. Go see what things other people accomplished when they were your age. (Link courtesy of Lee) .: 151 words at 11:31 AM in Entertainment Value :: Link ::

And now, time for today's Friday Five! 1. What is your favorite restaurant and why? It used to be Carrabba's (amazing Italian food), but lately it's been Lupe Tortilla's. They have the absolute best fajitas in the world. They just opened one about five minutes from our place, so it's near by and delicious. 2. What fast food restaurant are you partial to? Fazoli's is my biggest weakness. I love their Submarino sandwiches and their buttery, yummy breadsticks. 3. What are your standards and rules for tipping? I usually give around fifteen percent, but if the waiter has been particularly great, I'll tip a little higher. 4. Do you usually order an appetizer and/or dessert? At Carrabba's we order their calimari, at Lupe Tortilla's I get queso to go with my rice. We do Blooming Onions or wings at and at Red Lobster we get chicken fingers and cheese sticks. We very rarely order deserts. 5. What do you usually order to drink at a restaurant? If I'm not drinking, I order a Coke without ice (I hate ice in drinks). At Red Lobster I get their raspberry piña colada. Carrabba's makes these great drinks called Grand Roman Ritas (margaritas with a shot of Grand Marnier in them) that I just love to get. They are so good and so strong. Anywhere else, it's usually a frozen rita or a piña colada. .: 235 words at 09:47 AM in Friday Five! :: Link ::
