Ever since fiding Mighty Goods, a blog dedicated to great shopping items, I've been obsessively checking their finds. Anything from books to clothes to make-up to handmade sock creatures has made the list and I love to see what's next.

I personally love this purse, this bracelet, these boots, and I simply must have these notecards. (Really, any of these would make fine Christmas gifts.)

Today marks the 104th anniversary of the deadliest natural disaster in United States history, the hurricane that struck Galveston. Historians estimate that close to 10,000 people died. If the storm hadn't almost completely destroyed the city, people believe that Galveston would be the big city down here, not Houston.

Today also marks the 26th anniversary of my brother Russell's birth. He's definitely not a natural disaster, though I used to think of him as one when we were growing up.

Stevie and Angel are two kittens that are suffering from severe birth defects. They are in need of eye reconstruction surgeries that will cost approximately $4,000.

If you'd like to help their owners out (btw, these kittens were taken in when they were found abandoned), you can make donations here. Poor little kitties!
